Curtis Maranda first got involved with music when he studied digital recording and editing at York
University. Around the same time, he also incorporated Indonesian traditional music, Jazz, Tuvan
Throat Singing, Overtone Singing and the didgeridoo into his Techno and Electro House mixes.
From 2003 to 2006, Curtis Maranda lived in Japan and played regular shows at Club Shaft and
Club ADD. After returning to Canada, his focus shifted to production and original composition. A
prolific artist, he now has over 20 Beatport releases under his new Global Beat banner.
With years of experience thrilling audiences worldwide, Curtis Maranda is also known for his
unique mixing style. Using Ableton Live and an M-Audio Ozone, he plays multiple loops
simultaneously, all while adjusting and implementing a range of effects. With his uncanny ability
to rapidly change direction and improvise on the fly, be sure to witness a true master of the
electronic arts!
